We are happy to announce the Making Together Fringe Editions, a festival which brings together healthcare professions education with the arts. Throughout the festival, there will be a variety of events happening from the 9th until the 12th of May. Out-of-the-box thinkers, foragers of ideas, hybrid researchers and teachers, either by choice or by chance, you are invited on an adventure to wander and wonder on the Fringes of the conventional, and to explore your own creative possibilities for research and teaching in the healthcare professions.
On the 9th of May, there will be a screening of De Humani Corporis, a film by Fabrica Véréna Paravel and Lucien Castaing-Taylor. This screening will happen in Lumiere, the film will start at 19:30.
On the 10th of May, you are welcome to visit our main Festival Hub – which we are calling the Medical Imaginarium. This will be open from 11:00 – 22:00 on the 10th of May 2023 at the Social Hub, Maastricht. Here you will find all kinds of creative approaches to healthcare professions education, from learning in gardens, vegan simulators, pop-up books, DIY tools for teaching, art exhibits and more.
Furthermore, there are multiple free workshops in the Social Hub, these workshops vary from surgical and anatomical training through the experiences of baking and tasting, using magic as a tool with which to develop practice in the medical profession, a live recorded podcast about the role of hands and other sensory skills in medicine and art and much more. In these workshops, one can develop skills and gain new perspectives on medical practices.
